AAC Aviation Services

AAC Aviation Services (AACAS) is the flight operation arm of the AAC and offered its Piper Seneca II aircraft for domestic charter flights. Presently, the flight operations are temporary suspended due to un-serviceability of the aircraft and AACAS intends to resume operations in the near future.

AAC Technical Services

AAC Technical Services (AACTS) is the aircraft maintenance service provider of the AAC. AACTS is a CAASL approved IS-145 Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) and the technical maintenance of AACFA’s Cessna 152 training aircraft are performed by AACTS. AACTS provides Magneto inspection and Lead Acid / Nickel-Cadmium battery charging and servicing facility to majority of the operators at the Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana.

AAC Technical Services is inculcated with the unique work culture of up-to-date knowledge, strict adherence to regulations blended with the highest discipline as taught and continuously reinforced at its training centres, the AAC Flight Academy and AAC Engineering Academy.

AAC has been operating a flying training school since 1985 and has been maintaining its fleet of aircraft ever since, which from time to time included Cessna 152, Piper Seneca II and Jabiru ST3 aircraft.

The aircraft maintenance activities were performed under the flying school Licence. Subsequent to regulatory changes, AAC obtained the CAASL approval for AAC Technical Services, an independent IS 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) under AAC, in April 2022.

Additionally, during the operations of the domestic airline Lionair, by the then AAC’s parent company Lionair (Pvt) Limited, British Hawker Siddeley HS 748 aircraft was operated by Lionair as a dry-lease operation and all maintenance of HS 748 aircraft, including base maintenance C checks and P checks at 750 and 1550 hours, respectively, were performed by the company, giving invaluable experience and insights into maintenance of large aircraft.

AAC Technical Services, being in IS-145 AMO (CAASL.145.112) is capable of performing maintenance on any aircraft without restrictions, including large and CAT aircraft, subject to availability of required resources. Presently, the scope of AAC Technical Services is limited to maintenance of Cessna 152 aircraft equipped with Lycoming O-235-L2C engine. Additional capabilities for a Battery Workshop and Magneto Workshop have been requested from CAASL and the processes of approval are in the f inal stages at present.

AAC Technical Services with its predecessors has almost four decades of unblemished aircraft maintenance experience wherein no aircraft maintained by it has had an accident or an incident due to maintenance issues.

AAC Technical Services processes a few key attributes:
